CreditCardValidator —
Card validation code, IINs, and more
Welcome to CreditCardValidator! This site is a free resource that tracks credit and debit card IINs (Issuer Identification Numbers) and BINs (Bank Identification Numbers), which are the portion of a credit card number that can be used to identify the card type and issuing bank. Our database includes information on cards issued by 1,500+ banks with almost 6,000 unique IINs.
This site includes information for developers who are interested in credit card verification libraries, a free online tool for validating credit card numbers, a fake "valid" credit card number generator, and a browseable database of IINs for all major credit card issuers - Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Diners, and UnionPay.
What is an IIN?
In IIN, or "Issuer Identification Number", is generally the first 1-6 digits of a credit card number. Rather than being linked to the account number of the credit card holder, these digits identify the bank which issued the credit card.
IINs are extremely valuable to developers for combating fraud, as they can also reveal information such as country of issue, card schema, and card type (debit or credit).
CreditCardValidator has a complete database of credit card IINs that are free to browse.
